Is it ok to use pessary for thrush?

Resolved question:

Hello, I am a 17 year old virgin, and I got thrush, and it was recommended I use thrush cream, and have been using it for the past three nights with no side effects. But I in biology today we were studying the reproductive system. And I released that I think I have been inserting the cream using a pessary into the cervix. Is this going to cause a problem???

Hello,

No, ideally thrush creams should be used as a pessary.

But there are few things that you have got to follow, few hygienic practices.

  1. Wash your vaginal area with mild antiseptic before using the cream.
  2. Wipe dry with separate towel you use for this.
  3. Use pessary, but remember to not keep it for too long. Remove after 6 hours or so.
  4. Always keep your vaginal area clean.
  5. Do not have unprotected sex as you can be spreading the thrush.

I also suggest you take some immunity boosting drugs, as thrush occurs only in those whose immunity is low. I also suggest you to take fruits and vegetables, they are natural immunity boosters. I also suggest you go for yoga, its known to improve ones health.

Thank you.
