Is taking drinks along with combined pills effective?

Resolved question:

I wanted to know if drinking would be fine while taking a combined pill as I am worried about some infections like the ones I saw in the pics of herpes.

Thanks for your question and concern. The usage or effectiveness of the combined pill won’t get affected by drinking but in case you vomit after taking the pill within two or three hours or if you get caught by diarrhea or unfortunately if you miss any dosage of your pill then there are chances that the effectiveness of taking the contraceptive pill might be reduced. Now, you need to pay attention on if you are feeling fine after drinking or not because if you won’t feel good after drinking then the combined pill is not going to protect you anyway. Alcohol consumption might affect your memory also but you should always remember that you have to take the pill at proper intervals. In case you are vomiting then you should immediately consult your doctor and ask if you can take some emergency contraception without wasting much of your time. Meanwhile, you should continue the usage of condom during sex with your partner. You might feel afraid on seeing the pics of herpes but you should not worry about that as it is also a kind of infection that occurs due to sexual reasons and is very common these days. You can probably visit your local doctor or some clinic of family planning to get a clear idea on the contraception pills and their different types. All the advice that you seek at the clinics or from specialist are always kept confidential and free contraception is provided. You can also gain proper knowledge about various types of infections including herpes so that the pics of herpes don’t make you feel nervous or afraid. Best wishes.
