Resolved question:
After being in a few suspect places, hotels, pools, hot tubs, etc
I have had this itchy and redness for about 8 months...these lesions appear every few weeks in different spots on my thighs and buttocks. I saw a clinic dr and he is confident it is follicitus, they are annoying and painful...he has given me topical cream and even a mild antibiotic, but nothing has worked

I can understand your concern.
It seems to be Folliculitis. However, these are all lesions which have eroded. Do you have a picture of any intact lesions?
Also a picture of them being present on another body part be helpful.
