Laceration of the forearm.

Resolved question:
I lacerated my forearm 2 days ago by accident with a metal steel hook on a door in the kitchen. It went to a layer where it has white sheaths. After a couple seconds, blood started to pour out. I put hydrogen peroxide daily. Today, the blood has stopped. The cut is 3 centimeters in length and 0.4 centimeters wide. There is no heat, pain, induration, puss, itch, or swelling. Should I still have it stitched up now that it has started the healing process since the cut is 0.4cm open as it is trying to heal? Should I agitate the wound to cause it to bleed so I can stitch it up and cause the two sides of the wound to close up and heal together?

Hello

Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com

I checked the picture and its a very deep wound, I would recommend that you visit your doctor as soon as possible so he can take the stitches for you.

It wouldn't be wise to leave it alone to heal by itself as it will surely attract bacteria which will cause infection.
Also it won't break up easily and completely as its a very deep wound.

The stitches need to be taken under strict aseptic precautions by a doctor so as to prevent non healing of the wound.

I hope this has helped. Feel free to follow up.
Take care
Thankyou
