Lichen Simplex Chronicus.

Resolved question:
Sore red, itchy lesion/sore in a line above and below anus. Not sexually active. Been there for a month or more but doesn't seem to get either better or worse. Seems to get inflamed sometimes and other times not as bad. Itches a lot, especially at night. I do sit in an office chair all day for extended periods of time, but keep pretty clean. Does not bleed or ooze anything.

Hello

Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com

I can understand your concern.

This seems to be like a chronic eczema. It's called lichen simplex chronicus. It is a very itchy condition and due to scratching, the inflammation increases and again causes a lot of itching and the cycle continues.

It's important to break the cycle by taking anti histamines which control itching. You can take tab. Claritin 10 mg once at night daily for two weeks. Application of a steroid antibiotic cream like mometasone and fusidic acid will help in taking care of the eczema. You will require a prescription for the creams.

This week help in resolving the inflammation and improve the itching.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Take care
