Light bleeding due to mistook birth control pills.

Resolved question:
I've been taking birth control for years old patientnow and I'm usually aware of all the problems it causes. I just recently skipped mondays pill and just went ahead and took tuesdays. My period kinda tried to start but then it slowed down. on Saturday i weent ahead and started the period week pills just to get it over with and now my period is very very light. Also friday morning i had sexual intercourse and the condom broke. I guess my two concerns are if I'm pregnant, or if i really messed up by taking my pills wrong. My period is almost never this light. I also don't normally take my pill the same time everyday because of my busy schedule. I guess I need feedback to put my mind at ease or let me know if I should seek medical care. Thank you.

Hello
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand that you skipped /missed a pill and then did not take it the next day, so you forgot one pill.
Now I want to understand one thing more, which is not clear from the text of your question.
ON saturday, you started the inactive pills by missing any pills, or were the inactive pills due ?
I mean did you skip any pills in the pack ?
Please let me know.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

On Saturday I did not skip a pill. I just skipped the normal pills and went on to the period week pills. I'm still cramping and everything like normal but the bleeding is very light.

How many normal active pills did you skip before starting the inactive pills ?

Patient replied :

Four. My period seems to slightly be getting heavier.

The abnormal bleeding pattern is because of that.
Please do not take these pills in this manner.
Skipping active hormonal pills will always lead to an erratic period.
Right now, you can wait out till the bleeding / spotting stops.
Then start a fresh pack, and please do not miss / skip any active pills.
You can take a pill pack back to back to avoid a period, but you cannot miss active pills.
Take care.

Since I last asked you about my period I've been feeling strange this past week. I know you said it was because of my pills not being taken regularly but Since then I stopped taking them just so I can regulate my body and I had a week long period since then. Then I started taking my pills like normal about that. But my stomach feels like there's an air bubble in it and very light cramping. Along with light nausea. I took a pregnancy test to ease my mind but I got it wet and think that I may have messed it up. It did say negativeim very scared I might be pregnant. Or that there's something else going on. I do have a history of ovarian cysts and kidney stones.

Hi again.
I am very sure it is due to the irregular intake of the pills.
Please repeat the test if you had got it wet by mistake.
IF this feeling persists, it is worthwhile to get an ultrasound scan to know if the cysts are back.
Take care.
