Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
There is no way you can lose your hearing secondary to scratching. Your ear might be blocked due to cold or congestion. Do you have any allergies or cold symptoms as of now? Is there any pain associated in the ear?
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.

I feel normal for the most part today. I was itching slightly inside my ear. Could I have inadvertany forced ear wax into my ear? How would I go about clearing this?

Hello,
Yes, slight blockage in hearing could be secondary to ear wax.
You should get it checked by an ENT specialist who can clean the wax for you.
Also, any other otitis related issue can be ruled out.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.
