Medication for headache and pain in upper neck.

Resolved question:
Good Day

Hope all is well?
I am an expat working in Juba, South Sudan now for the last 3 months.
I started to get these headaches, and first thought was malaria, which i have had many times over the years. I took the malaria medication, and it worked. But ever since, now for about 3 weeks, i have this misty head, a slight pain in my upper neck and back of my head. It is more an annoying feeling, and not so much painful. Almost feels like a tension type headache. My biggest concern is the misty head. Almost like drunk feeling, especially when i move my head from side to side. Also my eyes are a bit blurry. I struggle to focus, and to read, and my eyes are very sensitive to light. Normal pain killers does not work(I also use celebrex, because i have a bad lower back from time to time), i go to bed with this strange feeling in my head, and i wake up with it. Generally i don't feel sick or bad at all. I was thinking i will go and see my DR when i am back, by the end of the month. Anything i should be concerned about? or any medication i can take to help? Any advice will be helpful.

Kind Regards
Louis Roux

Hello. Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com.
I have noted your symptoms and i would like to reassure you that there is no need to worry.
The symptoms seem to be a combination of muscle tension headache and migraine-like headache. You may take NAPROXEN tablets twice daily for five days. I usually give a dose of 250 mg two times daily.
I hope it helps.
Feel free to discuss further,
Best wishes,
Dr. Sudhir Kumar MD (Medicine), DM (Neurology)
