Missing period but not pregnant

Resolved question:

Hi doctor, I had been taking my pill on holiday for five weeks without any break and now have missed my periods for more than a month with all pregnancy tests negative. I am a little worried if I am suffering from any STDs?

Thanks for your question and concern. I can’t find it clearly that you had been taking the pill on the advice of your doctor without any break continuously for five weeks. It is really important to discuss it with your doctor who advised to take a pill or if you have not taken it as advised by your doctor as per the instructions. It might be possible as told by you that you are not pregnant but I would suggest you to visit your doctor and discuss everything you are facing with the doctor and also gain proper knowledge about the STDs. You could also talk to the nurses present there who are always ready to help the patients. Also, you can talk to the nurse through the helpline of FPA where your complete problem or issue will be heard and solution will be provided. They might ask you to visit a doctor and get all the required tests done. You could probably take the pregnancy test again if you feel so. It is equally important for you to understand how a pill functions in your body and what could be the risks involved with the regular dosage. Much of the information can be gained through the leaflet of instructions that is provided with the pill to be aware of the consequences of over dosage. You should also visit your local doctor and acquire a proper knowledge about the various STDs spreading these days and how careful you should be while taking the pills or having sex with your male partner. Best wishes.
