                                Hello,
Thank you for choosing DoctorSpring.
You are having a Polyarthralgia of short duration. At this stage it is difficult to come to a single diagnosis and it is not required either. The most likely cause is a viral infection causing arthralgia (joint pain and swelling).
The natural course of this disease is self resolution. I will recommend you a step by step approach here :
1. Rest, plenty of fluids for 1 more weeks
2. OTC pain medication like Ibuprofen 400 mg two to three times a day with food
(if you have any history of allergy, take the meds in consult with your Doctor)
3. The pain and swelling should resolve in a week.
4. But if it is NOT resolving (or if it is worsening ) you will require to some blood tests to rule out other causes of join pain .
The following tests are recommended.
- Complete blood count
- ESR
- CRP
- RA Factor / Anti CCP
- ANA
5. Incase if you have recurrence then also these blood tests are required.
Hope this helps
