Pain in back, abdomen with KIDNEY STONE. CT.

Resolved question:
For the last two months I've been suffering from pain all over my back and lower right abdomen, on the abdomen it's more discomfit then pain. the back pain can be upper back lower back for a couple of hours and then disappears.
I had kidney stones I passed the stone and the pain started 2 months after.
I use to drink a lot of protein and also eat and didn't drink a lot.
When this pain started I stopped working out.
I went to the chiropractor for a month with no improvement.

I'm attaching my test results , blood , urine (culture) CT scan with contrast.

Please advice.

Hello.
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
I went through all your reports.
As you mentioned there are some things that you did wrong like not drinking enough water and having excessive protein. What it did was it made your urinary tract vulnerable to more infections.
Currently as it is evident from your urine reports, you have moderate growth of bacteria in your report and that shows that you have UTI.
UTI itself can lead to pain and discomort in the abdomen.
Have you taken any medicine to relieve the back pain. How is your urine flow and frequency? Is there any burning micturition? Have your ever spotted blood in your urine?
It is important that you initiate treatment for your UTI.
Based on additional history and what medicines you took before i can suggest you further,
Regards.

Hi, The kidney stones was long time before and I passed the stone. However, with all the test I did my primary doctor says that he doesn't see any evidence for UTI. I'm not taking pain killers as I have IBS and those medicine cause discofort with my stomach. The pain goes to my ribs on the site it goes all over sometimes on the side of the ribs on the back of the ribs. I don't have any burning sensation when I pee nor blood.
My primary doctor can not see any evidance of UTI, Can you suscribe antibiotics for me?

Hello.
The reports that you uploaded are all dated around march ( 28.03.2014 ).
Do you have any recent reports? Like if you got your urine culture recently?
For your blood report it says ( collected on 09.03.2014 ) and for your other labs ( 28.03.2014 ).
Anyway even your old report shows evidences of UTI which has not been corrected.
The good thing though is your CT SCAN is normal and so other kidney pathologies can be excluded.
Kindly confirm if the reports are latest, or if you do have them upload them and based on that i can guide you further.
Regards.

Hello.
Thank you for the follow up.
Well your culture is not showing any specific growth and also shows that normal commensals are present. But all your last reports quite significantly showed signs of UTI.
I will still advise you an antibiotic, because sometimes the culture won't be positive ( False-Negatives )
Please take the following medicines for 3 days. I'm also adding one low dose painkiller, it won't cause any harm to your IBS Symptoms.
1) Tab. Norfloxacin 400 mg twice daily for 5 days, after food
2) Tab. Ibuprofen ( for pain ), once daily/ twice daily depending on pain.
3) Cap. Omeprazole 20 mg once daily before breakfast in empty stomach.
Please take the above mentioned medicines for 3 days and update me regarding your symptoms.
Regards.

Can you please write a subscription for those drugs.(if you allowed to practice in California)

The ibuprofen is hard on my stomach .
Why should I take the Omeprazole where I don't suffer from any stomach issues.

Hello.
I am sorry i can't provide any prescription online and you have to get it from your local prescription.
I wanted you to take Brufen for the pain and we always advise Omepraole along with it to reduce the gastric side effects. If paracetamol suits you, you can take that after food and alpng with Omeprazole. There will definitely be no gastric side effects.
Kindly continue Norfloxacin for 3 days and let me know.
Regards.
