Resolved question:
I fell off of a ladder about 2 months ago and fractured my wrist and elbow and I am being treated for that . I am having pain in my back near my shoulder and I thought it was just from wearing a sling for a week for my elbow but the pain has not gone away what could it be?

If it is only pain which is of severe nature and not associated with any stiffness of shoulder, then this may be due to an associated injury to your back. You should have a X-ray of your back to rule it out.
If there is stiffness of shoulder then it could be due to the sling. In this case, you should consult a physiotherapist for help with physical therapy.

I haven't wore the sling in over 7 weeks could it still be from the sling?

Are you doing exercises after removal of sling?
If you are not doing exercises then it is due to stiffnes of muscles.
If you are doing exercises then it may be due to some associated bony injury which may need a x ray.
