Painless protrusions on spine, weight loss. Cause?

Resolved question:
Hello. This is probably a ridiculous question. I am 60 years old . Have recently lost quite a bit of weight. I was feeling of my back and noticed two protrusions on my spine. They are not painful . I do not know what my spine should feel like or if I should be able to feel these two protrusions in the center of my back . I have purposely lost weight. Honestly my posture is not good. The main one in the center of my back feels spongy. Is this normal. Thank uou

Hello,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have read your query carefully.
It looks from your details that you are having protrusions at your spine. At your age these protrusions may be due to osteoporosis in bones. This is weakness of bones which lead to collapse of vertebrae bones and prominence of part of bones at back. There are several other reasons for such prominence like infection in bone, trauma & others. At present, you should have an x-ray of your spine & check for this reason of this deformity. It will be better for you to consult an orthopedic doctor for this.
Hope this will help you.
