Pressure in bladder, WBC, PLATELET COUNT. UTI?

Resolved question:
Hello,
I have had pressure on my bladder for a few years. I thought it could be a UTI or something and got it checked out. The doctor said it was not an infection, but treated me for one just in case. I still have the pressure and was assuming maybe it was all in my head, but it hasn't gone away. I just went to the OBGYN and they sent me my CBC results through a email. They put no comment or anything next to the results. It said I have a WBC of 11.6 and Platelet Count,521 and now I'm worried they could be related. Any Idea of what this could me if it could be bad?

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Your CBC reports show that the wbcs are slightly elevated, and even the platelets are increased. That can happen due to an active infection. Did the doctor order any urine test? What medicine were you given?
I need to know if you have the following symptoms :
1) Do you have any burning sensation while urinating?
2) Do you have any increased frequency of urination?
3) Do you have pain while passing urine?
There is nothing bad when it comes to your CBC reports, however pressure in the bladder can be due to cystitis, where you will also have the above mentioned symptoms. And in that case the WBCS will be elevated indicating an active infection.
Once you reply i can guide you further,
Regards.

I need to know if you have the following symptoms :
1) Do you have any burning sensation while urinating? No
2) Do you have any increased frequency of urination? Yes I can’t sleep because it feels like I have to pee
3) Do you have pain while passing urine? I feel pressure but nothing really painful.
After I pee I still feel as if I have to pee. I have had a UTI before this feels kind of like that, but not really the same.

Hello,
If there is no burning sensation, then an active infection can be ruled out. However in some cases, UTI only presents a vague discomfort and pressure feeling in the lower abdomen, so it is better to initiate treatment for the same.
A pressure feeling in the bladder/lower abdomen and vague discmfort mostly points towards cystitis ( bladder infection ). Most people will also experience increased frequency of urination, and incomplete voiding feeling.
A short course of effective antibiotic will be helpful in your case. I will recommend first if you haven't got a urine culture test done, then get it done and start Tab. Norfloxacin 400 mg twice daily for 5 days after food. Also drink plenty of water, to keep flushing the bacteria.
If it doesn't settle after Norfloxacin a Pelvic Ultrasound will be needed to find the exact cause of the bladder discomfort.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.
