Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Your SGPT is mildly raised.
The most common cause of mildly raised SGPT is non alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Fatty liver is confirmed in your case by ultrasound scan.
Since you do not consume alcohol, yours is non alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Some of the common causes are obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol.
The first step in the treatment is weight reduction. Try to keep your BMI under 25.
If you are a diabetic or having high cholesterol , take medications to keep them under control.
Repeat liver function test and ultrasound scan of abdomen 3 months after controlling the above mentioned risk factors.
Till then continue the medication.
I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards,
Dr.R.K

Thanks Doctor. I am already on diet(Fat free ,very low carbs and enough protein) and doing exercise and I am able to reduce my weight around 7-8 kgs for last 3 to 4 months and now I am 67 kg and my height 5’10”.My bowel movement improved a lot and fells better. My BP is normal and no history of blood suger. But my hypochondria reoccurred for past few months so my doctor now advised me to take Paxidep CR 25 mg daily. Previously also I was on Paxidep CR 25 5 years old patientback for 4-5 months to treat my hypochondria and it worked excellent that time. Now I am bit worried because I heard Paxidep has some side effect thogh I did not feel that much when I took that few years old patientback. Now my question is if I take paxidep now will it create negative effect on fatty liver or SGPT. If its required to take paxidep then how long I can take it safely? Thanks In advance! Jaydip

Hi,
Paxidep does not affect liver. It does affect the SGPT levels.
You can take it as per your doctors advice.
