Red bumps in pubic area

Resolved question:
Hello Iv noticed a few weeks ago red bumps above my penis in my pubic area. I'm a bit shy about going to a doctor about them and stressing about them at the same time. They just seem to be there they don't at and symptoms besides them being there

Hello

Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com. I can understand your concern.

You seem to be having bacterial infection of the skin, it's called folliculitis.

The best treatment for it would be application of neosporin cream twice a day for two weeks. That will resolve the infection.

Hope this helps, please feel free to get back with any queries.

Hello thanks for your reply. What do you think would have caused this to happen?

Hello

Thanks for your reply.

Shaving in the area for hair removal can cause folliculitis. You can trim your hair for a while till this heals.

While shaving you must make sure that you are using a fresh razor, you must make sure to not shave in the direction opposite to that of the hair growth.
