Red patch on tongue, bled on eating pineapple. HSV?

Resolved question:
I have this red patch on my tongue which appeared 3-4 days ago. This happened after I ate a lot of pineapple and my tongue actually bled a little bit. I don't know if the pineapple is maybe unrelated and this is HSV? I also started smoking a lot recently do to work. Maybe that has something to do with this?

Hello,
Thank you for your query. I also sincerely apologise for the delay in reply.
No, this does not look like HSV. HSV lesions normally present as a blister and there will also be symptoms such as fever, and mouth sores.
How did the tongue start bleeding? Yes, smoking can at times cause pharynigits, and irritation of the local mucosa and can cause bleeding like this even from the thorat.
You should also get a CBC done to check your platelets.
Feel free to discuss further.
