Risk of STD in a male after oral sex

Resolved question:
I am a male, 19. I received oral sex last week for 1-2 minutes. I do not believe she has any std's but to be sure, what would I be at risk for? And how long should I wait to get tested?

Hello,

Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring. I can understand your concern.

Oral sex can transmit sexually transmitted infections.

Herpes , HIV, Hep B, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea etc could be a possibility.

It would be better to get tested right away to get a baseline result for the herpes n HIV.

You can repeat the tests for herpes in around six weeks and for HIV in 3 months.

This is for your reference.

The time of testing for various STDs differ according to the pathogen.

I would recommend that you visit the STD clinic for a full evaluation and testing.

Hope I have been able to answer your query. Please let me know if you have more queries.

Thank you, but isn't it true that my risk of contracting HIV by receiving oral sex would be extremely low?
