Distended stomach, nausea and vomiting with low WBC.

Resolved Question:

Hello, I am getting into my primary care but she can't take me for a couple weeks and I'm freaking out.
Background:

A couple months ago I started feeling nauseous and had an episode where I vomited through the night off and on. I thought it was just a stomach bug, but then the same thing happened about 3 weeks later.

At this point I went to urgent care. They did a pregnancy test (both blood and urine, both negative) and ran a bunch of other blood tests. My white blood cell count came back at 2,700 which they said was low.

I am set to go back in for more tests on that.

In addition, I lost a lot of weight in 2014 for my wedding. I've gained much of it back, about 15 lbs over 8 months which is a lot (but gets me back to about where I was pre-wedding). I've actually been eating healthy and dieting recently but my stomach seems to be GROWING. The only word I can use to describe it is DISTENDED. It's hard and doesn't feel fatty. Just large and growing.

I took two additional pregnancy tests over the weekend, both negative. I have not gotten my period, I am 39 days later, but that's not uncommon for me. I am not on the pill. Barrier method. I have very abnormal periods that have been that way since I was 13.

When you google "distended stomach" and "low white blood cell count" some VERY scary things come up - please help.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Distended stomach could be due to fat accumulation, fluid accumulation, increased gas or pregnancy.
Of these fat accumulation and pregnancy are ruled out.
To look for fluid accumulation , physical examination or an ultrasound scan of the abdomen have to be done.
There are different causes of fluid accumulation.
Increased gas could be due to poor digestion. This could occur due to causes like infection or diseases involving the digestive organs.
Since you had nausea and vomiting, increased gas due to infection is the most likely cause.
A stool test and an ultrasound scan of the abdomen may be done .
I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
