Self injection of Oxytocin

Resolved question:
I injected myself with .3 millimeters of oxytocin. My head got warm and my heart rate increased. Should I be worried.

Hello,

Thank you for choosing DoctorSpring.

Since you have not mentioned the Indication, I am assuming that the Oxytocin was self administered without medical guidance. Oxytocin is generally administered as an infusion (slow dosages, not a rapid injection).

I would say it was not a smart move from your side. Luckily this is rather a safe medication. So unless the symptoms are persisting you should be okay. Cytotoxic can lead on to arrhythmias and blood pressure changes. So if you still have symptoms and/or if there is feeling like irregular beat, skipped heart beats, syncope, weakness or any unusual symptoms you should get medical help urgently

Hope this helps
