Skin rash after using SKELAXIN for neck spasm. BENADRYL?

Resolved question:
I took skelaxin for neck spasm (as prescribed by my dr.). I've taken it in the past, but tonight I developed a skin rash from it -- mainly on my hand and a bit on my stomach. I want to take Benadryl (which usually helps me with skin rashes) but Skelaxin and Benadryl are contraindicated I think b/c of potential for dizziness. Do yo think I can take the Benadryl? I am concerned about allergic rections.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Yes there have been reports of serious drug interactions ( Skelaxin + Metaxalone ), since they both lead to serious drowsiness and sedation.
However if you're not going out, or you're planning to rest entire day, then you can take Benadryl depending on what was the dose of Skelaxin you took.
Regards.
