Sleepy feeling, loss of balance with normal MRI.

Resolved question:
I have a sensation of a sleepy feeling. This has been going on for over two years . The sensation varies in degrees. its is not painful. I do have a very slight loss of balance. I've been checked out by ear specialist. Besides having the complete loss of hearing in the right ear. I do wear an aid in my left ear. I have had an MRI indicating there is nothing to be concerned about my head. I do not experience loss of sleep. I'd say that I have very very slight depression which I'm sure could be due to this stress. ABOUT A YEAR AGO HAD ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE OVER THE INTERNET, BUT I DO NOT RECALL IF THIS IS THE FIRM. I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR REPLY. I HAVE MISPLACED THE REPORT.

Hello,

Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com

You are suffering from sleepy feeling, mild giddiness, bilateral hearing loss ( right>left) and mild depression. As your MRI brain is normal. Mild giddiness and sleepiness may be related to mild depression or may be due to balance system problem( in inner ear).

Your need general assessment to rule out high or low blood pressure and sugar.

If normal we can start

Tab. Betahistine 16 mg three times for 10 days

Vestibular rehabilitation exercises also.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
