I understand your concern.
Yes, this does sound like the flu. I will advise you to consult your physician who can prescribe you antibiotics for a week.Most such infections start as a viral, however, quickly progressing to a superadded bacterial infection and the symptoms persist.
Hence, a course of an antibiotic like Cap. Augmentin 625 mg twice daily for 5-7 days will be required for the infection control. Since you have gas, and chest cramps, probably secondary to acid reflux, I suggest you also take Cap. Omeprazole 20 mg twice daily for 7 days.
