Resolved question:
Recently I had my 15th blood transfusion on, the 3-4 of this month and year. During transfusion the I.V blew and 80% of the first bag of blood transfusion accumulated within the upper arm muscle, leaving it stiff, and in great agony. The second bag went in with no problem on a new I.V line on the other line. I still feel weak, fatigued and disoriented, which led to me falling from the bed.....leaving me in great pain. Called my primary Dr. During his answering service, he said to go back to the hospital. Since the hospital nearest to me treated me badly, we decided to go to the city hospital where I gave e birth to
my second child. I was treated worse there, since instead of getting me an I.V, along with I.V pain medication stat, the nurse blew all the I.Tv's she started in order to get blood for labs. She had two IVs going, she could have taken the blood from one IV, and leave the other I.V. for the liquids and IV medication. She blew both veins and I was stuck with the agony of the then unknown fractured spinal disk.
Being that I am paraplegic, shouldn't the hospital have admitted me, to begin some sort of care to bring my pain down, and to find why I went from 8.9 after my blood transfusion, to 8.4 in less than a week?

I understand your concern and empathize with you.
The injury from the iv site could have been much worse, and it was the responsibility of the hospital to investigate further and keep you under observation.
Even though a hemoglobin of 8.4 is not dangerously low, I personally feel they should have kept you under observation for a few more days to see the trend of hemoglobin. If it was dropping continuously then another transfusion could have been planned.
