Stitch in the right abdomen after urinating

Resolved question:
23 year old male. I have recently noticed that sometimes, more in the morning, I will get a tightness in my right side (middle abdomen) after I urinate kind of like a stitch after running and sometimes a faint sharp pain. I am convinced it is something very wrong with my kidneys but I was told that the pain would be more in my back. It may last a couple seconds or a couple minutes and then goes away.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com. I am Dr. Kini and I am pleased to assist you.

Stone in the urinary tract can cause pain in the back, along the flanks and in the groin. Your urinalysis appears normal.

You can get an ultrasound scan of the abdomen done to look for stone in the urinary tract. Smaller stones usually get flushed away in the urine.

For larger stones, you may need some medical intervention and you need to consult an urologist for that. I hope that answers your question.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr.R.K
