Hi,

Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com.

It is unfortunate that your father suffered from a brain stroke due to high BP. However, he would improve with good treatment.

For the paralysis to improve, physiotherapy should be continued.

To prevent the recurrence of stroke, clopidogrel a blood thinner should be continued along with rosuvastatin (which controls cholesterol and prevents brain stroke).

His BP should be kept normal with medications.

Low fat low cholesterol and low salt diet should be consumed.

I hope it helps. Please get back if you have any more queries.

Best wishes,

Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for your valuable prescription. I want to know that people usually say that this sort of stroke occurs thrice. Is it correct or its just a guess?

Thank you for getting back.

There is no truth in that. In my practice, most patients do not get the second stroke. However, people who do not control their risk factors (such as sugar, BP or cholesterol) and do not take blood thinners, may get the second stroke.

Best wishes
