swollen painless lymph nod

Resolved question:

Hello doctor,

I am a 23 years old male now suffering from some abnormal problems. I had a swollen lymph node at the under side of my left jaw. I was left swollen for around 2 months. It was not a painful one but I noticed it when I started feeling it while chewing. Moreover, I started having abdominal cramps which were all painful. By this, I seemed like losing my energy and I was totally dropped. I used to wake up with cold and sweat both simultaneously. Sometimes, it feels like my whole body is itching. It make me go crazy on itching. All the symptoms as I read online leads to lymphoma. But I was not losing weight or appetite. What is wrong with me? Can you suggest me any medication or direction on what is happening with me?

Thanks for your question. May I make it clear to you that the swollen nodes you have seen in your neck are just caused by some reaction to some upper respiratory infections? Anyway it is not so common for lymph nodes in neck causing infection in airways. But the swelling will resolve along with declining infection. But it requires a close and thorough checkup to make it clear about which type of infection is affected. Normally, lymph node swellings and bacterial infections associated with it may last for 2-3 weeks. If it persists for long, it is best advised to see your doctor again. You can get your doubts cleared about lymphoma by getting a blood test done. Good luck.
