Hi, I'm currently taking 10mg of amlodipine daily for high blood pressure but it is affecting my mood in a negative way and causing me to feel anxious. Are there any alternatives to amlodipine?

Hello, Thank you for asking your query at DoctorSpring. Amlodipine doesn't have any side effect of negative mood effect. The only side effect amlodipine has on central nervous system is headache and somnolescence that to very rarely. There is some other drug that is causing you these symptoms. You need to look into it. Or it could be some thing that's worrying you psychologically. Amlodipine is one of the anti hypertensive's that have the least side effect. There is no there anti-hypertensive that will have lesser side effect or better action as amlodipine. I suggest you to continue this drug and look into whats causing you anxiousness. Hope this helps.
