Tampons causing thrush

Resolved question:

Can I use a tampon in periods when I am having thrush whilst the treatment of this infection is going on? I am afraid if this won’t increase the infection as revealed in the herpes pictures.

Thanks for your question and concern. I would like to inform you that as per the Women’s Health, towels and the tampons play some role in thrush by creating the proper environment for thrush. You should be aware of the fact that tampons can make your vagina completely dry if you leave them inside the vagina for long time say about more than 12 hours. This will change your pH balance and hence trigger thrush. If you are so afraid about the infections then you could probably visit a doctor and get proper advice from the GUM clinic. You should not get afraid of what herpes pictures reveal as they are the pictures of the infections of various stages that are curable so you should not get worried about something by just seeing the pictures. You can also take the services in the various local hospitals or even talk to some specialist. Taking the GUM consultations can help you to a great extent and all the consultations that you have at the GUM clinic are always kept confidential that means that none of your relative or friend or any family member will be informed about your visits to the GUM clinic unless you allow or ask them to do so. You can also ask your specialist to help you understand various herpes infections and diseases through the herpes pictures so that you understand each infection in a better way. You could probably call a helpline number whenever urgent and talk to the available nurse and discuss your problem whenever you need to. Best wishes.
