Treatment for dull annoying pain in PROSTATE AREA.

Resolved question:
Im a 32 year old journalist working abroad in Syria so i dont have access to the most 'reliable' health service.

For a month or two i have a pain in my prostate area. It an annoying dull pain that increases when i sit for a long time. sometimes it radiates to the tip of my penis (itching). Its not a heavy pain but its annoying because it throughout the day.

I do have access to reliable medical laboratories here so i did some blood tests and urine tests: all came out fine. I had a doctor feel my prostate: he said it was of normal size.

Are there any pills that i can take (generic antibiotics or some generic pill that works the prostate) because the stuff the doctors subscribe here is all local stuff i dont trust it.
I do have access to western medicine, just need you to tell me what to get/try or if i will be better of to 'trust a doctor' here and let him prescribe me something.

Hello. Thank you for your query at Doctorspring.com
I understand your concern.
The pain around the prostate area or the lower abdomen can be due to a lot of causes like prostatits, cystitis, stones or UTI. I need some additional details to guide you. Most commonly the pain in the prostate is due to prostatitis in which you will have symptoms like pain in the abdomen, increased frequency of urination, an urge to urinate constantly, waking up in the middle of night to pass urine, fever, feeling of incomplete voiding, burning micturition. What is the severity of the pain? Is it constant/ intermittent?
Do you have any such features? Do you have any burning sensation while passing urine? Are you sexually active? Since you said your urine tests are fine, it rules out UTI, however prostatitis can't be ruled out by simple urine examination. Hence an elaborate history is required.
Once you give me additional details, i will guide you further. In such cases with a long duration pain like for one month, not resolving, it is advisable to get an Ultrasound-Whole Abdomen done.

Thank you for your answer.
The pain on a scale from 1 to 10 is a 3 or 4. I feel i need to pee very frequent but when i go i pee just a little urine and my bladder feels 'empty' / towards burning. But not really painful. I had a urine bladder echo which was ok. Sexually active not since im on the job. My girlfriend back home however was tested positive for eureaplasma (?). It was 5 months ago since last intercource.

Hello. Thank you for writing to us again.
All your symptoms point towards cystitis. Did you have a urine culture done? Whatever reports you have, is it possible for you to upload?
Since you have not been active sexually recently i can rule out STDs. However since your girl friend has positive Ureaplasma, it is a cause of concern, since this organism colonizes the genital tract for a long time and can cause prostatitis/cystitis and cause the symptoms that you're having currently. Though the chances are less, however it is possible.
Hence i need you to get an urine culture done, if not already done.
I will also advise you to start :
Tab. Norfloxacin 2 tablets twice daily after food for 7 days.
Get back to us and please upload all your reports,
Regards
