Hello. Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com.
I understand your concern and will do my best to help you. You seem to be having candidal intertrigo, a yeast/fungal infection of the skin folds.
This is more common in Diabetics and overweight/obese individuals. The moisture from sweat that tends to accumulate within skin folds leads to fungal growth and infection.
The good thing is that it can be easily treated.
You need to do the following:
- Keep the area clean and dry. After bathing, please dry the area gently using a separate towel.
- Please apply OTC topical 2% Miconazole powder over the affected areas, twice daily for 2 weeks.
- You can Tylenol for pain as it is one of the safest analgesics in diabetics.
In case, the sore worsens or there is no improvement after 3 days of treatment, kindly see your doctor.
I hope that was helpful. Let me know if I can assist you any further.
Regards.
