Unprotected sex followed by two periods and missed third

Resolved question:
Hi,
I was wondering if you could help me? Around 7 months ago I had unprotected penetration for a couple of seconds and since then I have been extremely paranoid that I am pregnant. My first teo periods came normally but then I missed my 3rd month one, which is highly unlikely for me. I did a pregnancy test and it came back negative and then a few weeks later it came but it was lighter. I've had all of my periods since then apart from this month's. I've had a constant dull ache on my left side and it's been investigated too. I had a pelvic ultra sound which apparently showed that my ovaries were normal and my uterus was normal too. I also had a blood pregancy test which came back negative. I think I have done around 20 urine blood tests and those include 3 done at the soctor's clinic. As you can probably tell, I am extremely anxious that my period is irregular again and I just want to know really if I could be pregnant? Surely a pelvic ultrasound would pick up a foeutus if it was done around the 5/6 month mark?
Thanks

Hello,
Thanks for your consult at DoctorSpring.com.

Yes, you are being paranoid. Take my word for it. 20 negative pregnancy tests in itself is sufficient evidence to rule out a pregnancy.

An ultrasound can pick up even 5 - 6 weeks of pregnancy, so yes, a 5 - 6 month old fetus would never be missed ! At 5 - 6 months, you would start showing also , and be able to perceive fetal movements too. Do not worry at all.

A lighter period once in a while is normal, all the rest of them have been on schedule for you.

A dull ache could be a mild infection / muscle sprain.

Please stop being paranoid now. You are NOT pregnant.
Hope that helps, coming from a professional.

All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.

Thank you! I thought I wasn't and then stupidly typed things into google and all sorts of horror stories of people having numerous tests and then having a baby on the toilet popped up! If my uterus was somehow retroverted, I'm assuming that the scan at that pojnt would still show a foetus? Thanks so much!

Hello again.
Yes, even a retroverted uterus would DEFINITELY show up a baby at 5 to 6 months !
Take care
