When can I practice walking with crutches SCREW FIXATION?

Resolved question:
Hello Dr Mukesh Tiwari,

About 5 months ago, I contacted you regarding my mother's fracture neck of femur problem (Orthopedic Surgeon
Order ID: 227984)

Thanks for your precious suggestion! We followed your advice and my mother accpeted the screw fixation operation (with 3 screws) on 17/09/2014. The operation was successful. Since then, my mother did x-ray for a couple of times and the doctor said she was recovering well.

She is now practising walking with the aid of crutches (left and right)and seems get better and better. She cannot feel any pain and sometimes can even drive for about 20 mins without any problems.

Now, our question is when is the best time for her to try practising walking with just one crutch or even without the aid of crutches? I have uploaded the latest x-ray pictures (which were taken within a week) for your information. Could you please have a look and see based on her latest recovery situation (the operation was done nearly 5 months ago),whether she can try or she still need some time? The reason I want to ask you is in China, some old people (even doctors) keep saying it's better to have some more time laying on the bed than practise walking. I do not know whether they are right or not, I am looking forward for your suggestion.

I was also told by the local doctor something might happen after the fracture neck of femur was the bone might be dead. Based on the x-ray pictures I uploaded, I am not sure whether you could see any sign that my mother will meet this kind of bad situation or she is OK at the moment? If what the doctor said is true, is there anything she should be careful doing during her daily life?

Thanks very much for your time, looking forward to hearing from you!
Kind regards,
Li
(It seems I cannot upload multiple files this time, I have just uploaded a .zip file which contains 8 images in total, let me know if you have any problems unzip it or view the files. Thanks)

Hello,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have gone through x-ray images you sent.
They look good to me. You don't need to worry. I think it's a good time for her to practise walking and moving around gradually and as per her convenience. She may walk freely except heavy weight bearing she may do all her routine work from now on. She may walk or drive without any problem.
Hope this will help.
