I took varicella vaccine (chickenpox vaccine) this october 2014..should I take a second dose..if so is this a must? When should I take..is it too late ?

You did not complete the vaccination, as the recommended dose is 2 doses 4 weeks apart.
The effect of the vaccine without the second dose is over already. If you tolerated the vaccine well in the first place, you can get yourself vaccinated once again, making sure you receive two doses. And yes, it is a must to receive two vaccines to complete the schedule and confer complete immunity.
