Hello so my mother has had this skin condition for three years. She has been to multiple skin doctors, and she has had multiple diagnosis that have all been wrong. (She is in her forties right now). The condition she has causes her skin to split open in different places such as fingers, frets, hands, neck,arms, and back. She says it's very painful and she bleeds when the skin splits open. When she goes in the sun the splitting of the skin gets worse, and when she showers her skin burns. I have pictures of her skin and what is happening. We need answers please.

In this condition there are lots of fissures and hardened skin and there is also a lot of bleeding from these fissures. I would recommend application of mupirocin cream mixed with clobetasol cream twice a day on the affected areas. You will need a prescription for these creams. Also in case these medications do not help, it would be best to visit your dermatologist who might start you on oral medications as required.A review of the lesions after a week of using these creams would be necessary. In case of itching, she can take an anti histamine like claritin. Please let me know if you have any queries. Take care
