Acidic urine with burning around labia with blood. MRI.

Resolved question:
I have had trace blood urine for a few years
On and of
I didn't think much of it
But I had ultrasound abdomen and Mri pelvis for other reasons recently

About two months ago I started to feel like my urine was too acidic and www causing burning around my labea
I thought I had uti but I didn't
But now last week I had urgency to Urinate and went to do urine test
And it showed trace leucocytes
Thy put me on amoxil
It didn't work
They put me on cipro
They did urine Culture said mixed flora grew none of which could be in enough quantity to cause my symptoms
It's now a week since culture I'm on cipro
Feel urgency to urinate
Still have leucocytes
I don't think this is uti
Or cipro would be working after two days
What can this be
What should I do

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
A lot of bacteria are now becoming resistant to ciprofloxacin and hence patient may not improve inspire of having adequate treatment.
You should change your antibiotic under the guidance of your doctor and see how the things go.
However if you don't improve even after change of antibiotic you merit further investigations. You should get a cystoscopy to rule out any other pathology.

Take care

Patient replied :

I took two days high dose amoxil before
It should have worked one of two should have also I did urine culture why wouldn't it show bacteria
She said Dr it showed mixed flora and not enough bacteria to cause my syntoms
Another development tonigh I had reduced urination. Can this be from cipro

The reduced urination can't be because of ciprofloxacin and should not be thing to be worried about.
Bacteria can be resistant to both amoxicillin and ciprofloxacin. You should start yourself on nitrofuraton under care of your doctor.
Mixed flora in urine doesn't mean that you can't be having infection. It just indicates that there were multiple bacteria and none reached growth to significant volume in culture.

Take care
