Hello,

I have reviewed your symptoms and shall be interested to know the report of your urinalysis and how much residual urine you have on ultrasound scan. If you have that handy with you, please let me know. You can either upload the files or type down the conclusions.

Your symptoms are suggestive of overactive bladder and you shall be on anticholinergic agents if the above mentioned investigations are within normal limits. You should proceed with pelvic floor exercises as it shall correct your symptoms in the long run.

Please feel free to ask followup questions.

Take care.

Sincerely

Rajiv Goel

I am not to great at the kegels as I cannot hold the muscle for long. As for the anti's you mentioned, those are prescription based and I do not see my DR for another month again. Any other suggestions for the mean time?

Hello,

I really don't have any other recommendations for you. Your results are absolutely fine. you need to continue exercises and as mentioned you need to start medications under the care of your doctor.

Can you provide any insight why my problem is worse in the morning/over night and how it is linked to my "male excitement"?

Expert:  Dr. Rajiv Goel replied 2 Days.

Hello,

More urine is produced in the night and hence more symptoms in night and early morning.

Erection always leads to the increased urge to urinate although it is not appreciable in normal individuals. However, as you have increased urge during normal times it gets worse with erection.

One last question, besides the basic kegels are there any other exercises that exercise the PC directly or indirectly?

Expert:  Dr. Rajiv Goel replied 1 Day.

There are no other specific exercises, which are as beneficial as Kegels. Internet might offer you a lot of alternatives, but please be aware that those are not proven or evidence based. Kegels might be bit difficult to do for certain individuals. But that should not deter you from keep trying. Even thr trail attempts will give you benefits. Kegels + Medications will give you good results. And should focus on them only.

Hope this helps
Thank you
