Awakening from sleep from sharp deep pain in nasal cavity

Resolved question:
Sir or Ma'am:

Erik;

I wake up either in the morning or middle of the night with a sharp pain, deep in my right nasiel cavity and my right eye most mornings (I clinch while I sleep Just to keep Asleep) So I remidy this by drinking a bottle of water, irrigating my siniuses and eye drops and stand in the steem of a shower (the last seems to be the only effective measure) also I take 1 Acetaminophen Aspirin caffeine tablets (Migraine Relief), and 1 Naproxen sodium tablet, and 1 Omeprazole Delayed release capsules. And a mouth guard (For the clinching) Last night it got bad because I woke up in the middle of the night with a pain so bad I had a fever (Heavy sweating) And very nauseous Dazed but hard to stay awake almost like I was drunk(But I don't drink very often at all), My sinuses felt so dry I couldn't breathe through my nose. My normal precautions seem to work Within an hour Or two but it was worse than ever. It has gone from a minor inconvenience to a seven or eight on the pain scale. In the last few years. In the morning or middle the night only, During the day I'm fine. I had Rhinoplasty surgery They cut out a bone spur but they said they had a complication complications and messed up or tore up some whining About eight years ago where they said they had a complication

Hello,

Thank you for using Ask a Doctor Service from Doctor Spring.

I can understand your problem, and will try to help you the best possible

Let me explain the disease first ?

Your symptoms are;
• Intermittent Right sided hemifacial pain causing disturbed sleep
• Right nasal obstruction and dryness
• History of rhinoplasty surgery

One sided nasal obstruction and pain can be caused by various diseases(most commonly chronic sinusitis, migraine, nasal polyp). To treat we should get correct diagnosis.

Because it is present for long duration (Years) we should do investigation including Rigid nasal endoscopy (Direct examination of nasal cavity with endoscopic camera, can be done by local ENT doctor) and CT scan of paranasal sinuses.
If nasal endoscopy is not possible, you can do only CT scan of paranasal sinuses (coronal cuts), it will be adequate. If you can scan the CT Film and can mail me again it will help in getting correct diagnosis, and I will able to guide regarding treatment.
Your present symptoms are unlikely related to previous surgery

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

Thank you.

Regards
