Both parents with A positive blood and child with B positive

Resolved question:

Hi
I am Pradeep 34 years old. My wife is 24 years old. We got a baby just 6 weeks old now.
My Blood group is A Positive and my wife has got same A positive blood

But our child has got B positive blood group.

According to my knowledge of science there is not possibility of having a child with B type blood. I have referred several journals and online articles to clarify this matter.

Can a man and woman both have A positive Blood group make a child with Blood Group B
This is a big mantle problem for me and I am always thinking about this.
I am waiting for fair answer.

Thank You

Pradeep

Thank you for choosing Doctorspring. I will be glad to help you.

I do understand your concern. Genetically,in case both parents have 'A positive' blood group their child can have either an 'A positive' or 'O positive' blood group. It is not possible for the child to have a blood group that is 'B' type.

It is possible that the results of the blood group might have been technically wrong. This could happen at any of the three points - your, wife's, child's. Blood group measurement is a manual process done under microscope . So error and confusion can come up.

Even after rechecking the results are same you should consider counselling and Genetic testing (DNA analysis) as this is only the fool proof way.

Hope this helps. I will help you out with any further queries.
Thank you.
