Boxer fracture on the 5th metacarpal and osteoclasis

Resolved question:
Hi I had a boxer fracture on the 5th metacarpal the orthopedic hand surgeon doctor told me I didn\'t need surgery but i felt I needed surgery anyway i had a cast on for 4 weeks and she took it off and told me I need to start moving my hand I though casts should be left on for 6 weeks so im not sure this is the x ray of my hand

Hi doctor this were the other x rays after 3 weeks on a cast is very hard for me to make a fist after they took of the cast all my fingers feel very stiff. She told me that the operation could make it worse because putting the placates would make it have less mobility

Hello,

Thanks for sending me x rays.If this is your recent x rays & x rays after 3 weeks of your injury then i will advice you to have a second opinion .There is approximate angulation of more then 30 degree. Angulation should be between 25-30 degree ideally. At this time i will advice you to have osteclasis, where they break the union at fracture site & re adjust the fracture site.

Hope this will help you. Please feel free to discuss further.

With best wishes.
