Bright blood on wiping after removing POLYP by COLONOSCOPY.

Resolved question:
A little over a year ago I had a colonoscopy and a benign polyp was removed. A couple of times in the last few days I noticed a little bright red red blood on the tissue paper after I wiped. Is it possible that the blood is coming from the site where the polyp was removed

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
It is unlikely that the bleeding is from the site where the polyp was removed one year ago.
Though bleeding is one of the common complications of polypectomy which can occur for even up to a few days after the procedure, it is not possible after a year of the procedure.
You have to look for other causes of bleeding. Bright red blood could be due to hemorrhoids, fissures or from a new polyp.
A repeat colonoscopy may be done to find the cause.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
