Bumps at penis after unprotected sex. GENITAL WARTS?

Resolved question:
I had unprotected sex 4 weeks ago. On Friday (4-24-15) I saw a two bumps at the base of my penis. I have a doctor visit and an STD test scheduled for Monday, but I'm worried and wanted someone to take a look at it as soon as possible. The bumps seem to be going down, so I don't thing it is gential warts, but I want to be positive. Earlier in the week I masturbated quite a bit, so I'm hoping it is just irritation. As I read online I think it might be genital warts so I'm pretty scared. Please help.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
I have reviewed the pictures and they do not look like warts. Warts have a more projected appearance, and as you mentioned since they are going down, they can't be warts.
It is difficult to diagnose from pictures, however, it could be herpes or molluscum contagiosum infection.
Are the sores painful? Is there any associated rash??
Please feel free to discuss further,
Regards.

Thank you for your response. There is no pain associated with the bumps or a rash surrounding the area. I check the bumps again and they appear to have gone down. I have been putting Campho-Phenique on it in case it was a minor skin irritation. The bumps feel smoother and more in line with the skin.

Hello,
This is not related to any STD. It looks like a bacterial infection.
I will recommend application of Mupirocin ointment for 1 week, and they will come down completely.
Regards.

Thank you for answering my question and helping me out. I dont want to sound condescending but should I still go get an STD test just to be safe? Or are you pretty positive from the pictures and what I have described to you that it is not related to any STD? I respect your answer because you are the professional, but I just want to be positive.

Hello,
Yes, I am very positive it is not HPV.
However, for your mental peace, please get the STD panel done and let me know.
Regards.

Does it look like or sound like any type of STD? I know that is a loaded question. I will definitely go get the STD panel done. Thanks again for your help.

Even if it is a STD, it could be Molluscum Contagiosum which is a viral and non-chronic infection.
Please get it done and let me know.
Regards.
