CALCULUS in URETER with HYDRONEPHROSIS. ENDOSCOPY needed immediately?

Resolved question:
Hello Doctor, Yesterday night after having my dinner, I had severe pain in my ureter and in back - left side.. I also had vomited entire food and was taken to a near by hospital. Later, I was given Pain Killer Injection with Acidity injection and after 15 mins pain stopped .

Today morning, I went to near by hospital and took USG scan and found stones in Right kidney - 5mm calculus in lower pole calyx and Left kidney shows mild hydronephrosis and hydroureter 10mm calculus in lower urter and 2-3 cms above UV junction.

Post the result, I met a Urology doctor and he has given me following tablets and told me that 10mm stone is big in size and 20/80% of it coming naturally and need to do endoscopic.

My Question:

1. Do I need to do Endoscopic immediately considering size of Stone.
2. Can I take these medications prescribed by him for a week and check if stone comes by its own
3. Is Endoscopy a pain full process?? considering it will be done in my pennis.
4. Can I take painkiller, when pain comes - as pain killers has many side effect.

Medications prescribed:

1. Cap Dynapress 0.4 mg -=0-0-1 AF
2.Tab Cataspa - painkiller - if pain comes = 1-0-1 AF
3.Tab Rabicip D
4. Lasilactone 50 = 1-0-0

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Your stone is big in size but that does not mean that it cannot pass by itself.
You should take medications for at least 2 weeks and then repeat the ultrasound.
You should start on the below mentioned medications rather than those started by your doctor :

1) C.Dynapress 0.4 mg once daily for 2 weeks.
2) T. Drotin ds twice daily for 5 days.
3) T. Signoflam twice daily for 5 days.

4) T. Cefixime 200 mg twice daily for 5 days.
5) T. Defcort 6 mg twice daily for 5 days.
6) T. Ultracet on sos basis whenever you have pain.

You shall have fairly good chance of passing stone with these medications. The chance is approximately 60-70%.

Feel free to discuss futher,

Sincerely
Rajiv Goel

Hello,
In all probability you shall not require pain killers with my medications. However if you still require medications for pain then take ultracet. It is very safe and has no long term side effects.
Endoscopy is very safe and has painless procedure. You need to be in hospital for just 1 day.

Feel free to discuss further,

Sincerely
