Hi doctor, I used to have sex with my boyfriend. He had urethral strictures, which seem to make him difficult to reach orgasm. It also makes him take longer time for ejaculation. It is an issue he has been suffering for long. Are those strictures causing this problem? Is there any other cause for this? What can we do with this? Will it affect his fertility?

Thanks for your question. Strictures he has, do not have any effect with his fertility. There can be some problem if his testicles are damaged due to strictures. Likewise there will be no problem in attaining orgasm too. However, strictures can affect the way how the fluid is expelled after an ejaculation, as it can block the urethral passage. That urethral passage is the tube from which urine and semen comes out. If he is not having any issues with urination, he will not be having problems with ejaculation as well.
