Reason for delayed period with vaginal discharge.

Hi Doc,

My usual cycle length is 34 days. My last period was on the 20th May and based on the app that I use to track my cycle, my next period was due on the 23rd of June. I never skip periods, but this time not only am I late, but there is a strange vaginal discharge (dark brown) for the last two days. A home pregnancy test came back negative this week.

I am confused. Can you please help me out?

This is an irregular period that you had, and can happen once in a while to most women.
