Chances of HIV from touching penis with infected vaginal fluid.

Resolved question:

Hello Doctor,
I had been dating a girl and we stayed together for a week. Recently she got tested for HIV and she came as HIV Positive. When we stayed together, we didn't do any sexual intercourse. However, we did mutual masturbation three or four times. I remember that there was a time, she touched her vagina and within a minute she started touching my penis as well. I am sure that she had her fluid on her hands as I saw that she touched her vagina. She just informed me today that she has a HIV. I am so afraid now. How much I am in danger now? Please consider that we used the same toilet and shower as we staying together for a week. Please guide me ASAP.

Hello,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern
Though the risk of transmission is low it is still there. I advice you to take HIV test as soon as possible. If this happened before within 72 hours you can start post-exposure prophylaxis.
Feel free to ask further
Take care

Doctor,
I am planning to take the test this Monday. It happened two months ago. I have read some posts online and it says that the HIV can't spread thorugh mutual masturbation and the HIV will die immediately when it exposed to the air. Here is one of the posts,
http://helpline.aidsvancouver.org/what-we-do/helpline/online/does-mutual-masturbation-body-fluids-hand-genital-contact-transmit-hiv
All the articles says that there is no evidnace that HIV spread through mutual masturbation even with the bodily fluid on hands. Can you please explain to me what kind of risks that I am going through now? Once I knew that the girl has a HIV, I couldn't even sleep as I am in a high stress. Please explain to me why do you telling me that i am still in risk. I am sorry if any of my questions are too basic or repeated. Your detailed explanation would be really apprecaited.

Hello,
Thanks for your question. Yes, those articles rightly mentioned that mutual masturbation won't cause you to transmit you HIV. It depends upon the amount of fluid and viral load of HIV fluid she had. Though the risk in your case is very low as I said earlier though in my opinion it can't be completely denied. So, do not get stressed until you get your tests.
Regards

Hello Doctor, I have done HIV antibody test and HIV RNA test together and both came NEGATIVE. I have done these two tests after two months of incident. Is that means that i am 100 percent negative or do i have to do one more test after six months? Thank you for helping me on this issue.

Hello,
Thank you for your follow-up.
Yes, HIV RNA would have been positive by the end of 2 months. So as it is negative, you're fine.
Please do not worry anymore.
Regards.
