This is Bharathi, married and now 11+ weeks pregnant. My query is
In April I used my husbands trimmer to shave my private parts. But unfortunately I got a small cut near my genital. In Feb even my husband got a small cut near his genitals.
Now I am worried about being infected with HIV/AIDS.
Please try to help

Dear Bharathi,
I want to first clarify, is your husband HIV positive?
Even if he is, there is NO way you could have got infected because the HIV virus dies within a few hours when it is outside the human body. So you using the same razor after more than a month will NOT cause infection in you.
If your husband is not HIV positive, then again, NO way can you be infected.

Since your husband is HIV negative, then you cannot get HIV, as I mentioned earlier.
HIV infection can occur through:
-unprotected(without condom)sexual intercourse with someone already infected with HIV.
-when anyone receives blood transfusion where the donor has HIV.
-From HIV infected mother to baby, either during normal delivery or through breast feeding.
-sharing needle or syringe which has been used by HIV infected person.
-Mucous membrane exposure to blood (eg, splash of HIV infected blood to the eye)
-Another way which is very rare is by exposure such as human bite from someone with HIV.
These are the ways how one can get infected with HIV.
In all cases, HIV transmission occurs only when the source has HIV. And you do not have any such risks. So please relax.
