Cholesterol problems

Resolved question:

I have been on medication, particularly on these drugs- losartin, bendroflumethiazide and amlodipine for high BP. Now, my cholesterol levels are as follows:

 Cholesterol 6.3

Triglyceride's 3.6

HDL 1.04

Should I take any other drugs for curing cholesterol? Please help me.

Hello. Thank you for posting your query to us.

You have posted a lipid profile where in all the parameters related to cholesterol are evaluated.

The decision of prescribing drugs for cholesterol disorder depends on

1)The levels of cholesterol itself

2)Associated disorders like heart diseases, diabetes

3)Associated medications for high bp, heart diseases. Etc

4)Familial history

5)Response to previous anti lipidemic drugs

A lifestyle modification along with simple exercises like jogging would create a positive impact on the health of an individual. I would recommend you to consult a physician for a proper workup of history, blood tests and for further management.

Hope this helps.
