Constant heavy bleeding during sex without pain. Serious?

Resolved question:
Hi, I am a 25 y/o female. A few days ago during sex I had very heavy bleeding. It was a constant a large amount during sex, which was immediately stopped then a constant "flow" for about 10 minutes. The next 15-20 minutes I was still bleeding but not as heavily. As the day went on I kept passing clots of blood- like I was on my period, but I am currently 2 weeks out of the onset of my period. I also passed a blood clot the next morning (this initially happened the day before around noon). I did call my doctor and went in for a pap, where she told me there looked like there were spots of blood on the inner perimeter of my cervix. She stated she would do lab work, check for STDs, and possibly send me to a specialist. I am about 99.9% certain it is not an STD as I am currently engaged and have been with the same partner for a little under 2 years. After my pap (Tuesday afternoon around 2) I had more bleeding that night, which I assumed was from the exam itself. This morning (Wednesday around 7 am) I passed another large clot of blood with a lot of dark mucus. I recently had an odd shooting pain in my left leg, kind of on the side of my shin (I don't know if this is relevant). I am 5'6'' and around 200 lb. I am currently taking Minastrin 24 FE birth control. I am anxious to hear back news from my doctor and was just trying to get all the information I can right now, so I can try to put my mind at ease. I don't want to stress about something that I don't actually need to stress about. I know with exams and lab work it takes awhile sometimes to get results, and with insurance referrals it might be a few weeks before I see a specialist.
What could be the cause of this?
Thank you for your help in advance.

Other information that might be relevent: I did have the HPV vaccination when I was a teenager. (around 17-18).
My mother was diagnosed with endometrial cancer around the age of 49-50, but had been displaying signs that went undiagnosed for about 5 years old patientprior.  Main sign was abnormal bleeding.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
I would not worry about endometrial cancer at your age, but yes, investigation is warranted, as post coital bleeding is a worrisome symptom.
THe reasons can include - a polyp, cervical lesion or growth or cervical erosion.
You should be having an internal exam by a Specialist OB - GYN, Pap smear ( when you are not bleeding ), and a pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan.
I am also sure that it is not an STD, since you have no other symptoms such as pain during sex, itching, foul smelling discharge, tenderness etc.
It is further more abnormal to have such bleeding while on birth control.
Have you ever had such symptoms earlier ?
Since how long are you on the birth control ?
Do you smoke ?
Needless to say, you are obese, and need to work on weight loss.
All the best.
PLease feel free to discuss further.

I have had minor bleeding issues during sex before, nothing this heavy though. I have been on birth control since I starting menstrating, around 13-14 years old patientold. I was using it to help with severe periods- heavy bleeding, migraines, awful cramping.. etc. I have never smoked in my life, and do not drink alcohol frequently.
Yes, I am aware that my BMI indicates I am obese, my MD stated that I do not look obese, just overweight. I have been losing weight and have already lost 15 pounds. I am currently working towards losing more by eating right with the correct portions and continung to physical activity daily.

I think this could be a polyp or a cervical lesion.
Have the evaluation done as suggested.
It is great that you are working towards weight loss, ultimately, fitness is what is most important.
Keep me posted on what happens.
Take care.
