Had surgery to remove NASAL POLYS. Way to prevent them.

Resolved question:
Hello, I am a male and I am 28 years old and this is my medical history on skin problems and allergies:
-When I was a child (9-14 years) I had warts and dry cough.
-when I was 16 years old, my doctor found symptoms of phimosis and to avoid surgery, recommended me to do washing with chamomile on the penis. after a while, do not remember exactly, let say 1 year, appeared to me a strong allergy, in the crotch(joints of the feet near genital organ) and in the armpits (were small blisters with severe itching. I scratched those blisters, until formed a wound up in that place, which eliminates liquid and a bad odor) passed me harder after the treatment allergist prescribed. (the allergy may have been caused by clothing?)
-at 17-18 years old, has grown a node/formation white and hard under the skin between the left eye and temple. my surgeon cut it.
- Between 18 and 20 years ago, I had a pimple with pus on leg. which has swollen hard and I removed it through surgery.
-After this, was bloated and baking a finger of the hand under the nail, I was also resolved by surgery and was removed the nail.
- when I was 18-20 years old, I started to wash my genitals with intimate liquid soap. At 21 years it began smelled bad from the genital organ and I began to wash it 2-3 times a day with intimate liquid soap but still smelled bad.
- Between 21 and 28 years old, I often colds and runny nose and it started to grow me nasal polyps. Until now I underwent around five small surgeries for removal of polyps in through nose, last month I underwent another surgery with general anesthesia for polyps and sinusitis.
-on the age of 26 I took a homeopathic treatment for nasal polyps with Thuya, after which a treatment for prostate, during this time began bumps(blisters) under my arm out again.

-often I feel me bloated, from potatoes, or if I drink water (PET plastic) after meals, but sometimes I feel bloated even if you remove these causes.
I've done several tests to detect allergies but not found any allergy. (Only a doctor said that can be a small allergy to dust, but not sure. I also noticed that I sneezing when I smelling washing powder).
1) Can you make an analysis of this historical and tell me what can be the causes of my diseases listed above ?
2) Especially let me know what can be the causes of nasal polyps and what to do in the future to avoid polyps growing (because, my ENT-doctor told me that this surgery not guarantee that the polyps will not grow in future).

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Some of your symptoms listed above are isolated instances. For example, the phimosis should have been operated right away, however you tried with Chamomile. That definitely seemed to trigger an allergic manifestation locally and you ended up developing allergy. Scrotal skin especially is very sensitive and it should just be cleaned with plain soap water. Even some soaps can lead to allergy around the penis and scrotum.
So overall analysing your history you're prone for allergies, evidenced by the fact that you get allergic reaction around your groin and axilla, and also suffered from dry cough in your childhood. You may be allergic to heat, hence moist areas such as axilla or groin are more prone for allergies, and further superadded bacterial ( Staph. Aureus Infection ). You should try to avoid the allergen as far as possible and in future whenever you get a rash or blister use Calamine lotion. It prevents furture recurrences and also if infected, Mupirocin ointment should be used.
If your sinuses has been removed, polyps are a part of chronic rhinosinusitis, then the recurrences should be lesser. However discuss with your ENT and you can use topical corticosteroids such as Fluticasone. This helps in preventing future recurrences of nasal polyps after surgery and will be helpful in your case.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.

my ENT prescribed me to take XYZAL for one month. Can Xyzal to cause adverse reactions considering that I had hepatitis A and B, and prostate infection?
on bloating., possible that I may have food intolerance? I should do and tests for food intolerance? may have gluten intolerance or other substances, what do you recommend in this case?

Expert:  Dr. Jaydeep Tripathy replied 3 Days.

Hello,
Xyzal is an anti histaminic. It won't cause any adverse effects.
It will keep your allergies down, however i feel with so many recurrences you should not take chance and discuss with your ENT about topical corticosteriods such as Fluticasone. It has almost negligible systemic absorption, and won't cause any harm.
Regarding bloating these foods can cause bloating even in absence of gluten intolerance :
1) Beans and Lentils
2) Potatoes
3) Cabbage, cauliflowers, apricots, broccoli, prunes.
4) Dairy products. ( If your intolerance is more towards dairy products then it can be to recent onset intolerance to lactose. )
The best thing would be to avoid the mentioned food items in the list, and if your bloating reduces, you will know what is exactly causing the problem, and try to avoid it. Since you have history of such strong allergies, you may be reactive to some of the components present in these food items. But you can go ahead and get gluten intolerance or lactose intolerance tested out in consultation with your local physician.
Regards.

Some extra information: -All the time when the temperature is below 19 degrees, my hands and feet are very cold. -At age 15 I felt pain in the liver, I was hospitalized and received a course of cure for liver (hepatitis possible). -At age 13, I had a blow to the head, then felt the sting in the head and dizzy when I sit bent (or in bed) and then stand up. at age 16, I did a head control, was identified a problem (not sure what, but something was moved in the head), I received treatment for a longer time. 1) we can say that i have a weakened immune system? what factors may contribute to weakening the immune system? can be stress, certain foods, or medication administration for a long time? 2) Blow to the head can cause a malfunction in order to generate some of these diseases? About bloating:
3) Also I feel bloated after drinking water from a particular source, water can cause bloating, or certain substances from the water? 4) In some analyzes, was identified me Helicobacter pylori, can it cause bloating ? What kind of specialist should I ask, as to make me a more detailed investigation and to identify several factors which can cause bloating me? 5) Polyps may increase due to allergy to dust (or washing powder) or because of bad odors like as: - From the wound and the fluid in blisters (allergy in armpit and crotch) - Or the smell of the penis, as I said above? - Or because of food (allergy, intolerance)? - Or because of the use of perfumes and deodorants?
Thank You.

Hello,
Yes you do seem to have slightly weaker immune system. Stress, inadeqaute diet ( low in vitamins ), long term corticosteroids can all cause weak immunity.
But blow to head won't interfere with your immunity in anyway.
Regarding your bloating and possible H. Pylori infection, H. Pylori itself can cause bloating, indigestion, stomach pain and make your prone for gastric ulcers. Drinking water doesn't really cause bloating until and unless, the water is contaminated. I feel it is better if you can consult a medical gastroenterologist, who will run all the required tests for you, and then if H. Pylori is established a 2 week antibiotic course will be helpful.
Polyps can increase in size from allergies due to dust, but not because of bad odor.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.

if I open a window and get me a cold draft, begins to clog my nose and in this situation I feel that polyps become larger. Cold air draft can affect and immunity? I can not always avoid the cold air drafts. Which safeguards you recommend me in such situations?

Expert:  Dr. Jaydeep Tripathy replied 1 Day.

Hello,
Thank you for your follow up at DoctorSpring.com
Here are a few suggestion to reduce your chances of developing recurring nasal polyps:

  • Take intranasal Fluticasone (200mcg twice a day) at least for 4-6 weeks to determine if this reduces symptoms due to nasal polyps. Should this work for you, it can be considered as a long term option to prevent recurrence of nasal polyps.
  • I would also recommend a saltwater (saline) spray or nasal lavage to be used twice daily which will rinse out your nasal passages
  • As much as possible avoid nasal irritants which you have identified since most airborne substances worsen nasal irritation.
  • If the air in your home is dry, use a humidifier because this helps moisten your airways.
But NO cold air draft cannot affect your immunity.
Hope this helps, feel free to discuss further
